Brief Summary: The Evening Value Service is a horse racing advisory service that provides an average of 6 bets per day at average odds of 8.53.

How Much Money Do I Need To Get Started? A 250 point bankroll is recommended and staking is a 1 unit flat bet.

How Much Money Can I Make?  The service has averaged +31.40 units profit per month to BOG over the last 12 months.

How Much Time Will I Need To Make This Work? Less than 1 hour per day.

Will I Need Any Equipment To Do This? Bookmaker accounts and the ability use oddschecker.com and to place bets.

The first proofed selection for The Evening Value Service was on the 14th August 2012 and we have, up to the time of writing, proofed 3235 selections from this service which has made +303.43 units profit. Selections are sent over a few emails around 45 minutes before the evening races begin.

The selections are provided between Monday to Saturday when there are evening races and there is on average 6 selections per day. This is assuming there are evening races on all 6 betting days which may not be the case and some days there maybe no bets followed by 12 selections the next day. Selections are provided with advised odds that are available at the time of receiving the email and this review is based on using BOG (Best Odds Guaranteed), you can check these out on our bookmaker review pages, and to flat one unit stakes.

The results in this review are correct at the time of writing but we will continue to proof the Evening Value Service results here.

Over the period of our proofing this service has achieved a 19% strike rate, which is a reasonable strike rate. Breaking this down into the different bet types that have been provided we can see that:

Bet Type Wins Selections Strike Rate
Back 610 3234 19%
E/W Double 0 1 0%

As you can see above, all but 1 of the selections are Back bets with the exception being a losing Each Way Double. Like its sister service this is purely seeking those winners and the table below shows the return on investment (ROI). Looking at the bet types by ROI:

Bet Type Wins Selections Strike Rate ROI
Back 610 3234 19% +9%
E/W Double 0 1 0% -100%

So, when we ask ourselves…

Does this service make a profit?

Well the answer to that is a yes. The service started out with a loss and was in the red for 10 month but since April 2013 the service has been consistently profitable and produced +376.79 units profit over the last 12 months and can be seen in the screenshot below. It is important to get on at the advised odds using BOG as over the same 6 month period that profit is reduced to a -6.22 unit loss when using BFSP and this is an even greater loss of -59.06 units at industry SP.

Evening value

Over the past 6 months the profit has been consistent with the largest downswing being -36.41 units in that time period. The biggest downswing since proofing began was as been -133.13 units which is over half of the recommended starting bank and this was recovered after 63 days. As this service is included in the Morning Value Service there are no subscription fees to cover and in order to generate a profit of £100 per day over the last 6 month you would need to use £162.50 per unit point meaning a total starting bankroll of £40,625 is advised. This is a large starting bankroll but as this service is included in the Morning Value Service subscription it is possible to generate £200 profit per day using the advised points for both services or you could half the bet size to generate a profit of £100 per day in total.

The Morning Value Service is a tipster that is recommended by the Race Advisor and the added bonus of The Evening Value Service adds to the overall profit and is recommended by the Race Advisor.

The screenshot below shows the all time proofing of The Evening Value Service to BOG guarantee bookmakers at the advised stakes.

About Glenn Edmondson

Glenn Edmondson
I got into horse racing only a couple of years ago and it didn't take long before I was spending long into the night trying to find that next winner. All that time doing the research coming down to a one minute dash to the line really gets the adrenaline pumping and, as an engineer and skateboarder, the challenge of a puzzle and bone shaking adrenaline rushes are two things I don't think I can live without. Of course, I didn't really make much profit when I began, but over the winter I targeted my concentration into 4yo+ handicaps on the All Weather and I'm managing to slowly increase my bankroll and occasionally get a free night out.
