what are the current results, with what you've been doing (not including what you did before adjusting the approach)? I'm looking for selections, winners, strike rate, profit, ROI, A/E and Chi2 🙂

so moving on i would like to just go with 4yo+ handicaps races as they give out horses with a bigger profile to them .

i was looking at this ... https://racingbettingoffers.com/horse-racing-information/types-horse-race/   so i would then like to break the race cards down into 6 different categories .

can i first have your opinion on this and then if ok i would like to start off with the first two

Sprints  and

Mile

could you please give me race cards for these to go at for today and i will use the same scoring method as before and record the bets as i go on .

as i only like to concentrate on uk racing i have had a look at todays cards and there is one sprint and five over 7f /1m .

i did attatch a file Microsoft Excel Worksheet (.xlsx) but it hasn't come up ?

I just replied to your message in the Bugs section on this. Hopefully I will have a solution shortly.

also so i have been thinking about what you were saying about getting one right first going on about flat v jumps races and they are different .

so maybe as well to take it a stage further i have been using the same race card and approach on turf races , a.w races, different distances so maybe look tospecialize on one at a time and to get one going in the right direction before i move on to the next , how do you feel about that , i'm here for the long run and i enjoy this site and i know you'll always be here to help me so i want to make things work for me here .

That is, without any doubt, the best way. Trying to look at to many races can cause a lot of problems. While only focusing on one gives you less bets, when you have it working the skills you used on it transfer over to other types of racing, making it much quick to understand the next type of racing you decide to target.

so would this be possible michael or if not say another way to specialise which would probably be better making one for a turf sprint racecard , one for a sprint all weather race card , one for hurdles and one for chases , all to be for 4yo+ handicaps as they're the ones i like most because there's more form in there .

then i could have 4 different racecards taking in all codes that would do me , yes .

so as we are now in the turf season maybe if you could make me up one for that first and i will go about it the same way scoring points for each runner from the ratings as before i go to the monte carlo for a final check and then decide how i want to play it and record all bets and see how it goes before i move on to the next one  , thanks .

Yes, this would absolutely work 🙂

What ratings do you currently have on your race card?

thankyou michael , i do feel now along with your help this would be the right way going forward , get one right before moving on .

the selected ratings i have on my card atm are numbers 221 , 1013 , 3001 , 3006 and 3206 .

i also score on RR , PR ODDS and VDW , then i add the ticks and take away the crosses before i go to the MONTE CARLO .

thanks michael .

@future I would suggest you replace the RnkPFP with the DiffTp version, so you can see the gap between the top rated and the other horses. You also need a speed factor on the card and I would put a class factor too. Maybe just the Money Class Shift text version initially which shows if a horse is moving up, down or staying same in money class.

@future that looks good. With 153, look at the horse history and confirm the horse can perform on ground and distance.

although there have been issues all day with the database ( i understand ) i decided to give it a go today and came up trumps with 3 out of 3 dutching bets , ( i shall just look to do these as i am more comfortable backing more than one in a race ) , as ever thanks for your help michael .

(@mikeywilding) hi michael the good news is the sprint card is working ok and i have everything in hand working ok as i would like , but on average there are only 2 or 3 bets that i can make daily and i want more action .

so i would like to move on now with another card for hurdles & chases 4yo+ handicaps again please , so could you help me in making out a new card now for these .

@future okay great 🙂 for these races I'd recommend using the Horse Histories Strategy as the foundational approach. Take a watch of the video at https://www.raceadvisor.co.uk/instant-strategies/

Have you already got a card started, or are we starting one from scratch?
