The Weekly Profit Puller

Today I’m going to break down how I analysed a race last Saturday using various tools made available to me through the Race Advisor, mainly the Racing Dossier.

Focusing mainly on handicap races using the racing Dossier is a vital tool in speeding up how we look at a race and today that is what I’m going to look at.

I selected the 16:00 Lingfield and went about loading the card into my Racing Dossier.

These are the ratings that I have selected –

  • DSLR (days since last run)
  • DSLGR (days since last good run)
  • Hrs Win % (horses winning percentage)
  • 5278 Contender Finder Ranking (Horses ranked between 1 and 4 will win 52% to 78% of the time)
  • Contender (Form rating which rates the horses strength to contend in the race. The rating goes from 0-10 and the higher the better the horse.)
  • CD Winner (course and distance wins)

So this enables me to break down the race in a quick and simple way using the basics of form reading but without all of the hard work!

First of all then as you’ll see in the screen shot below I like to find horses that have raced in the last 31 days.

The ones highlighted in the blue are those that have raced within the last 30 days. I can then eliminate the last two as you’ll see below –

The ones with a red next to them have been eliminated at the moment.

Next thing to do is to now look for horses who have had a good run in the last 31 days –

As you can see we have now reduced the field into four runners who have raced in the last 31 days but have also have had good runs.

Next we look at the horses win % –

This has now reduced the field into three horses. We now look for the top four in the 5278 contender ranking, 6 or above in the contender ranking and a horse that has had at least 1 course and distance win.

This leaves us with a card that looks like this –

Skinny Love fit the bill and went onto win the race.

Now that is as simple as it gets and the software can find you plenty of winners but imagine having 1,000’s more ratings and being able to break a race down even further? You can with the Racing Dossier and I personally can’t live with out it when it comes to breaking down a race. Not only for it’s efficiency but because it’s cut my analysis time down by a 1/3.
